William R. Bullard

Strategic Partner, Print and Digital Communications

William Bullard is the founder of EdChanges, a marketing services firm for independent schools. William moved into education in 2012 after an extensive career in wireless communications and direct marketing. He participated in the early phases of digital marketing, and lead nurturing/marketing automation.

He enjoys applying lessons from his business career to private education. William has served as been the director of marketing and communications at two Boston-area schools and a marketing consultant for schools, service providers, marketing agencies, and philanthropic advisors. He has delivered marketing strategy and planning, website redesigns and SEO, content marketing, communications audits, digital ads, social media plans, analytics, blogging strategies, admissions and fundraising counsel, market research, and more.

William's content marketing has included articles, webinars, white papers, podcasts, eBooks, and presentations, for organizations such as NAIS, the Enrollment Management Association, Finalsite, and Blackbaud. He was one of 12 “influencers” noted on page 16 of Blackbaud’s annual “Perspectives on the Year Ahead.” William’s most popular article on LinkedIn is The Building Blocks of Strategic Education Marketing.” His primary topics include marketing strategy, data-driven marketing, enrollment marketing, communications audits, the use of video, personalization, and advancement marketing.

Formerly a four-year VP of Internet Marketing for the American Marketing Association – Boston, William is now a board member of a historic house and garden for which he provides marketing and analytics support. He earned his MBA at a top-15 business school, The Anderson School at UCLA, and has a long and deep connection with independent schools, including a 100+ year family history at Berkshire School and the attendance of his children at Gilman and Bryn Mawr Schools in Baltimore. He is married and lives in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
