Nancy McDonald

Strategic Partner, Brand Design

As the creative force behind Leapfrog Group, Nancy challenges both colleagues and clients to think differently. With a passion and an intuition for devising far-reaching, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for virtually any communications challenge, Nancy ensures that every design encourages constituents to read, heed and understand clients’ messages. The breadth of Leapfrog Group clients and projects excites Nancy; she loves challenging herself to be original every time.

As a creative director, Nancy makes the ordinary extraordinary, translating a sense of excitement and elevating every reader’s experience. Her goal is to create a sense of awe while ensuring that the project is functional and effective.

Nancy is an expert on practical and cost-effective implementation strategies that infuse a brand throughout a non-profit organization’s operations and marketing initiatives. She is an industry leader on the effective use of photography, typography and printing techniques for maximum impact in communications, and her solution-oriented approach allows clients to elevate their messaging to attract right-fit constituents.

Prior to starting Leapfrog Group, Nancy led the creative team at the Philadelphia Zoo where she worked closely with all departments to concept, coordinate and create all of the Zoo’s communications. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level at both Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and the University of Pennsylvania’s Stuart Weitzman School of Design.

Nancy’s creative vision extends into her family and community life. As a leader in her local school district’s PTO, she planned and led a campaign that funded the playground that her school community enjoys today. She also sits on the Board of her local library and volunteers her design talent to her town’s historical society.
